A new wave of young female leaders in Ghana is emerging, thanks to a bold mentorship initiative jointly supported by the Gutsy Women Foundation and the Empowering Better Life Foundation (EBLF). From 26 to 28 November 2025, the first cohort of the Gutsy Women Mentorship Programme gathered at the Skills Hub by YOTA in East Legon for an intensive three-day masterclass designed to expand ambition, strengthen confidence and prepare young women for leadership roles across sectors.

Over the course of the programme, participants took part in candid conversations and hands-on sessions that tackled some of the most persistent challenges facing women in leadership. Facilitators explored how gender biases continue to shape opportunities, and guided participants on practical ways to navigate and overcome these barriers. Young women also received targeted training in financial literacy—covering saving habits, financial independence and long-term planning—ensuring they build not just influence, but security.
The tone of the masterclass was one of empowerment and possibility. Participants reflected on how values, discipline and self-belief shape effective leadership, and many described the experience as a turning point in how they view their futures. One attendee noted that the programme “felt like a doorway opening”, giving her the confidence to take on roles she once thought were out of reach.

For EBLF and the Gutsy Women Foundation, the initiative forms part of a broader mission to equip young women with the tools, mentorship and networks needed to thrive in their chosen fields. Both organisations emphasise that national development requires women who are not just present, but influential in shaping decisions and driving change.
As the inaugural cohort completes its masterclass, the sentiment among organisers and participants is clear: this is only the beginning. With renewed confidence and a growing support network behind them, these young women are stepping into the future ready to lead—and ready to inspire others to do the same.
