Pupils of the Peduase Methodist Basic School in Aburi received an unexpected boost on 8 October 2025 when the Empowering Better Life Foundation (EBLF) arrived for a lively session under its Financial Literacy and Ethical Leadership Programme. What began as a morning of lessons on saving, honesty and leadership quickly grew into a memorable experience that left pupils inspired, encouraged, and visibly energised.
The session, aimed at equipping young learners with essential life skills, saw pupils eagerly engaging with facilitators as they discussed how simple daily decisions can shape their futures. Teachers described the atmosphere as “electric”, noting how children who were usually quiet in class were suddenly raising their hands, asking questions and sharing insights.

Beyond the classroom discussions, EBLF made a significant contribution to the school’s learning environment. The Foundation donated a three-in-one HP printer and a whiteboard with markers—resources the school had long struggled to secure. Teachers said the donation would dramatically improve lesson delivery and reduce delays in preparing teaching materials.
The visit also carried a deeply personal impact for the girls in the school. Each female pupil received reusable sanitary pads, a gesture welcomed by both teachers and parents as a meaningful step toward keeping girls in school throughout the month. In a community where access to menstrual hygiene products can be inconsistent, the intervention was described as “life-changing”.

All pupils—boys and girls—left the programme with snack packs, a maths set, notebooks, a pen and a reusable tote bag that doubled as a school bag. For many, it was their first time owning brand-new educational supplies. Their excitement, as one teacher noted, “said everything you needed to know about the value of the visit”.
For EBLF, the day was about far more than items distributed. It was about reminding young learners that they matter, and that they are deserving of opportunity. The Foundation says it remains committed to nurturing strong values, confidence and practical skills among Ghana’s next generation.

Judging by the beaming faces at Peduase Methodist Basic School, that mission is already making a measurable difference.
