The Empowering Better Life Foundation (EBLF) continues to make meaningful strides in shaping the minds and values of Ghana’s youth. In a recent engagement at St. Peter’s Catholic School, Papaase, the Foundation led an interactive session on Financial Literacy and Ethical Leadership under the National Development & Youth Empowerment Training Programme, a flagship initiative designed to build responsible, future-ready leaders.
The morning was filled with energy, curiosity, and inspiration as students explored practical lessons on saving, responsibility, and ethical decision-making. Through lively discussions, real-life examples, and interactive learning, the session encouraged students to think critically about how their financial and moral choices influence their future and their communities.
EMPOWERING LEARNERS FOR LIFE
The students at St. Peter’s Catholic School were not only enriched intellectually but also materially supported to enhance their learning experience. Each student received notepads, math sets, and pens, equipping them with essential tools for academic success. For many of these learners, these items were more than school supplies, they were symbols of encouragement and hope.
“Before today, I didn’t really think much about saving or being responsible with money,” said Adwoa Mensah, a Junior High School student. “Now I understand that even small savings can help me achieve my dreams. I’m also very grateful for the math set and books, they will really help me study better.”
This practical empowerment left a lasting impression, inspiring the students to see education not just as a requirement, but as a pathway to a brighter, more independent future.
SUPPORTING THE SCHOOL COMMUNITY
Beyond the classroom engagement, the EBL Foundation presented the school with a brand-new printer and a cash donation to support administrative work and improve teaching resources. These contributions are expected to make a significant difference in the school’s day-to-day operations, enhancing access to learning materials, easing documentation processes, and improving efficiency for both students and staff.
Expressing his gratitude, the Headmaster of St. Peter’s Catholic School, shared:
“The visit from the EBL Foundation has truly uplifted our school community. The lessons on financial literacy and ethical leadership were timely and transformative, and the donations will go a long way in improving teaching and learning. We are deeply thankful for this partnership and the hope it brings to our learners and teachers alike.”

INSPIRING TEACHERS AND BUILDING ETHICAL FOUNDATIONS
The engagement also served as an eye-opener for teachers, who appreciated the Foundation’s holistic approach to youth empowerment. Many educators noted that the programme provided fresh perspectives on how to integrate financial literacy and ethics into their lessons, reinforcing moral and social responsibility among students.
Teachers expressed renewed motivation to mentor their students beyond academics, guiding them to become not only successful professionals but also ethical leaders. The support from the EBL Foundation, both in resources and mentorship, has strengthened the bond between educators and learners, fostering a more compassionate and engaged school environment.

A LASTING COMMITMENT TO THE NEXT GENERATION
Reflecting on the event, Mrs. Alma Pokua Adade Prempeh, CEO of the EBL Foundation, emphasized the importance of nurturing responsible youth:
“It is a privilege to witness the brilliance and potential of our young people. By combining financial literacy with ethical leadership, we are equipping them to lead lives of purpose, integrity, and impact. The Empowering Better Life Foundation remains committed to expanding such opportunities to schools and communities across the country.”
Through initiatives like these, the EBL Foundation continues to invest in Ghana’s future by empowering students with knowledge, equipping schools with resources, and inspiring teachers to guide the next generation of ethical, financially literate leaders.
Because when we invest in our youth today, we secure a brighter and more responsible tomorrow.
